"Made in China" Party

My birthday this year was a week before the Beijing Olympics, so what better way to celebrate was to have a Made In China theme for all time daggyness sake to pay respect to those sweat shop workers providing the rest of the world with cheap luxury goods.

So the invite definitely had to contain spelling mistakes and typical Engrish that didn't make sense.

Guests had to turn up wearing the most items of Made In China clothing, and whoever had the most on won a prize, being a big rice bowl, 1 kg bag of rice and rice paddle.

So to fit the theme we had to have Peking duck for dinner. Complete with the beheaded duck on the plate as garnish.

And for grown up version of kids party games we played Stick the Made in China sticker on the iphone ( in the style of pin the tail on the donkey). Did you know the iphone costs more then the salary of the 16 year old girl that made it?

Other games I had in mind, but didn't get around to playing was a pick up M & M's with your chopstick race. So whoever picked up all their 10 M & M's first would win a prize.

Here were the lucky prize winners of crappy prizes from the iphone game which we played twice.

Winners taking home Chinese egg roll cookies and Bucket of dried egg noodles and peanuts

As bonbonieres, I made "Made In China" noodles boxes filled with all Made In China snacks including dried prunes, haw flakes, peanuts, sweet fried dough snacks, fortune cookies, pumpkin seeds, chrysanthemum tea and White Rabbit milk lollies. Just a few days ago I found out that those famous White Rabbit lollies could possibly be contaminated with malamine thats been found in milk products in China. So I've potentially poisoned my friends there.
