My birthday this year was a week before the Beijing Olympics, so what better way to celebrate was to have a Made In China theme for all time daggyness sake to pay respect to those sweat shop workers providing the rest of the world with cheap luxury goods.
So the invite definitely had to contain spelling mistakes and typical Engrish that didn't make sense.
Guests had to turn up wearing the most items of Made In China clothing, and whoever had the most on won a prize, being a big rice bowl, 1 kg bag of rice and rice paddle.
So to fit the theme we had to have Peking duck for dinner. Complete with the beheaded duck on the plate as garnish.
And for grown up version of kids party games we played Stick the Made in China sticker on the iphone ( in the style of pin the tail on the donkey). Did you know the iphone costs more then the salary of the 16 year old girl that made it?
Other games I had in mind, but didn't get around to playing was a pick up M & M's with your chopstick race. So whoever picked up all their 10 M & M's first would win a prize.
Here were the lucky prize winners of crappy prizes from the iphone game which we played twice.
Winners taking home Chinese egg roll cookies and Bucket of dried egg noodles and peanuts
As bonbonieres, I made "Made In China" noodles boxes filled with all Made In China snacks including dried prunes, haw flakes, peanuts, sweet fried dough snacks, fortune cookies, pumpkin seeds, chrysanthemum tea and White Rabbit milk lollies. Just a few days ago I found out that those famous White Rabbit lollies could possibly be contaminated with malamine thats been found in milk products in China. So I've potentially poisoned my friends there.

I paid my friends to come to my 25th Birthday party
BBQ Ribs Birthday Party Invite
This is the invite for my 26th Birthday party invite for a BBQ ribs dinner party. It didn't end up happening as my birthday ended up being merged with my friend's farewell at Blackbird cafe, but I had fun putting together the invite which I'll reuse one day
T-shirt for the brand obsessed
Iron on transfers are good fun. As a birthday present for Anh, I made a T shirt. Can you spot anything wrong with the shirt design?
Come dressed as the birthday girl surprise party
I almost forgot I promised my friend that I'd have a little dinner party for her for her 25th. So to make up for it I had a surprise install where I printed out her face and turned them into masks for all guests to wear when she walked in the door. Check out the photo of the suspect line up. The night wasn't complete without a party game like pin the handbag on Phuong.
No more ugly braces
Hows this for a present for someone who has just got their braces. My friend Jasmin got her braces so I thought this would be a good idea for her to remind her of what her teeth looked like without braces if she ever wanted to reminisce. Print it out and hold it in front of the mirror in front of your teeth
